Play Confident Golf
Do You Know What To Do To Keep Your Confidence Up During A Competitive Round Of Golf ?

Build your mental game support kit.
We all have moments on the course when we know that we are not in our best state to play well.
Maybe we feel some tension creeping into our minds and bodies.
Maybe we feel we have lost our normal rhythm or tempo.
Maybe we notice that we are not as focused as we want to be.
What if you created a mental support kit that would help you deal quickly with your temporary loss of “best performance state” BPS?
Here are 3 simple and effective ways for you to return to your BPS:
- Using your body to come back to BPS
- Using your breathing to come back to BPS
- Using a role model to shift you into a performance state
Support No. 1
Remember how you move and hold your body when you are playing your very best golf.
What’s your walking tempo? How do you hold your body? How are you moving your body?
If you don’t really know the answer to these questions then I suggest you take the time to find out.
Whenever you notice that you are not in your best performance state (BPS) focus on moving your body in the way you know matches your BPS. Use your body to help shift your state.
Support No. 2
Notice how you breathe when you are in your best performance state.
Long and slow? Breathing from the belly? How fast?
Just like the previous support you want to purposefully focus on breathing how you normally breathe when you are playing your best golf. This will help you shift back into your BPS.
Support No. 3
Who are your golfing heroes and heroins? Pick one or two.
How do they move on the golf course?
Take a leaf out of their book and purposefully walk and move how they do. Imagine what they would be thinking and doing and do the same. Take note of what works well for you and what doesn’t.
TAKE ACTION
The only way to change your behavior is to do something differently.
Decide to try out your mental game support kit the next competitive round you play.
Have fun with it.
